Dear Parents,
Unfortunately, Astrocamp VA has made the decision to close down permanently. They just informed us yesterday of this decision. We are working on an alternative field trip that will take place during the school day on Thursday, May 5th, and will update everyone once we have more details. We are all very disappointed. COVID had a huge impact on Astrocamp and they have not been able to fill staff positions to safely operate the camp. Stay tuned for more information and details about refunds!
WATER BOTTLES: Please make sure your scholar has a reusable water bottle every day! Our water fountains are open for refills! Please help us display our core value of Connections to Nature by reducing the number of single-use plastics we are seeing on our campuses. Thank you!
Girls in Science Summer Ed-Venture – North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences: Girls Grades (rising) 6 & 7 (2022–23 school year) Dates: July 18–23, 2022 Camp starts at 1:00pm on Monday, July 18 and ends at noon on Saturday, July 23, 2022. Fee: $650 includes all activities and program materials, lodging, meals, field trip transportation, T-shirt and certificate. Scholarships are available! naturalsciences.org
Parent and Family Engagement Survey: The Rethink Education team is seeking parents and guardians to help learn how to improve virtual and hybrid learning in their Parent and Family Engagement Survey. The Rethink team hopes to hear from parents school communities across the state to gain valuable and impactful information to support better virtual and hybrid learning for students. PIOs and other district communication leaders can find a toolkit on the survey here.
