Exploris Grade 6 Weekly Letter

FIELD TRIP:  WE HAVE RESCHEDULED OUR FIELD TRIP TO WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 23RD. Please send payment ($10) if you haven’t done so. CHAPERONES, IF YOU CAN NO LONGER ATTEND, PLEASE DELETE YOUR NAME OFF OF THE SIGN UP .

Model UN is accepting applications! Do you like learning about other countries? Are you curious about global attitudes regarding hunger, health, and the economy? Do you want to strengthen your skills in public speaking? Consider joining our award-winning Model United Nations Delegation- we are looking for nine eager students to represent Exploris! Starting January 19th, we will meet every Friday afterschool to prepare for the 2019 Triangle Model United Nations conference at UNC. Last year, Exploris won awards in Best Diplomat, Most Compassionate, and Best Delegate. Complete your application here; the deadline to submit your application is Friday, January 11th.

EXPRESSIONS DAY:  It’s time to share your talents with the Exploris Community! We are looking for crews, small groups, and individuals to perform at Expressions Day on January 18th from 1:30-3:00 at Christ the King Presbyterian Church located at 117 S. West St. Each grade level will have equal time to show off of their talent and school spirit. Crew teachers will share details about getting your act approved. Parents are welcome to join us! Six acts will be selected to represent sixth grade.

EXPRESSIONS DAY TRYOUTS: Tryouts will take place Wednesday, Friday, and next Monday during Gogo. Six acts will be selected to represent sixth grade.  CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR A TRYOUT.

SIXTH GRADE AUTHOR’S TEA CELEBRATION: Please join us on 1/25/19 from 8:30-9:30 as we celebrate and showcase student-created books based on recent Expedition topics. RSVP HERE IF YOU CAN ATTEND.

KODA CARE: Koda is our classroom Hedgehog and she needs families to care for her during the weekends and breaks. She is a cute pet and not demanding. If you can take care of her during a weekend, or a longer break, please sign up here.
